Want to bring your dog to lunch? We’ve got you covered! In our experience, most restaurants with outdoor seating allow dogs, though it is always a good idea to call ahead or check their website to be sure. To get an extra special treat for your pup, there are restaurants and cafes that specifically cater to dogs! Urban Olive & Vine has a ‘Yappy Hour’ menu and Bark & Brew has a Bone Bar, both stocked with a variety of dog treats, just to name a few. You can find a more comprehensive list of dog-friendly restaurants around Wisconsin at BringFido.com.
Boat tours can be another great option for you and your furry friend. You and your dog can take in the natural beauty of Wisconsin lakes and rivers together. Dells Boat Tours and Milwaukee Boat line are just two examples. If boat tours are not up your alley, but you and your pooch still love the water, some tubing companies offer dog-friendly options. A calm float down the river on a hot summer day will be a guaranteed fun time for you and your pup. If your furry friend is patient enough for canoeing (hint: we don’t recommend this one for puppies), you could rent a canoe for the afternoon. Just be sure you’re rested and ready to play fetch on every sandbar you can find!
Around Wisconsin, there are plenty of parks that love to let your dog stretch their legs and get some fresh air. BringFido.com keeps track of all off-leash parks, but nearly all city and state parks allow leashed dogs in as well. Keep in mind that these are public spaces so of course plan to clean up after your dog. Parks are a wonderful way to get out some of your pup's energy by running, playing, fetching, or swimming. And they’ll probably meet some new friends too!
One more dog friendly spot in Wisconsin that we just have to mention: Schierl Tire and Service! In fact, all pets are welcome! Schierl Tire and Service is a pet-friendly business. We want to see your dogs, cats, or even llamas the nex time you come in for service. You treat them to a car ride over and we will treat you and your car with industry leading service (plus give your dog a special treat as well).
Whether you and your dog prefer lazy days on the lake, long walks around said lake, or even just the gorgeous drive to get there, Wisconsin is full of places for both of you to have an enjoyable time. So, get out there and start exploring. Just make sure your car is ready for the road.
